Hey there. I'm new to the neighborhood and I've also started a Tribe specifically for the Witchblade comic. (tribes.tribe.net/7ff1685f-...ec1048c4ca
I've been reading comics for about 13 years now, thanks to my hubby who has been reading them his whole life. Witchblade is the one that won me over so there is a special place in my heart for that particular book. :-)
I lean toward bad ass chicks who beat people up, so Fathom, Tomb Raider etc. are my bag.
So, yeah... that's all about me. :-)

Re: New and new!!!
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 8:20 PMI thought it was a bit too bad that show didn't take off when it was tried out for TV. I liked the graphics and tone *waaaay* better than the 'Buffy' thing. -

Re: New and new!!!
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:51 AMI didn't like the show at all. The Witchblade is an organic, symbiotic entity, not medieval metal armor. I would love to see them try it again using CGI for the Witchblade, that would rock. :-) -

Re: New and new!!!
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 11:34 AMGood point... they went the cheap route for the witchblade :) My understanding was that the show did pretty good but that Yancy Butler was a problem and that was a major contributing factor to the demise of the show. I read Witchblade for a couple and then kinda fell away from the comic book. I did pick up the new issue (with a new artist and the creator writing again)... it was interesting. I might have to add to my reading list again :) -

Re: New and new!!!
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 3:26 PMI slacked on reading them for ages, though I continued to buy them so I started way back from the beginning and am re-reading and catching up. I'd forgotten about the crossover that happens with The Darkenss, which is another book I love... nothing like a handsome anti-hero, and I love how the two powers/weapons come from the same root. Once I'm all caught up on Witchblade I'll have to start over with The Darkness too.
Yancy Butler never did strike me as a good choice for Sara anyway. :-\

Wed, April 16, 2008 - 8:25 AMI agree completely. That show was every bit as bad as Painkiller jane... except that Witchblade is a much better comic. -

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 9:58 AMI don't watch TV anymore so I was spared the Painkiller Jane show. X-P
